The website includes a link with video tutorials about how to use Zoom. Your profile will be automatically created, and you may customize your preferences and settings. To get started, go to the UMD Zoom website at and sign in with your Directory ID and password. Zoom unifies web video conferencing, simple online meetings, and group messaging into one easy-to-use platform. Please note that all Spring 2021 events will be held virtually via Zoom. Only student groups that are recognized by the SGA are eligible for funds. Officers may be finance trained before their group is SGA recognized, but the group must SGA recognized before they receive any funding. Note: For security purposes, Zoom logs out after 120 minutes of device inactivity. We recommend downloading the Zoom Desktop App for use when joining meetings and webinars from your computer. *In order to be granted funding, the officer who submits a budget for an SGA recognized student group MUST attend a finance training once per school year, BEFORE they submit their budget request. Zoom Client for Meetings (Desktop App) The Zoom Client, or Zoom Desktop App, provides the most functionality as a meeting host or participant. The individual submitting the budget application MUST be the one who attended the budget workshop. The president, treasurer or the alternative executive board member are the only positions eligible to submit a budget on behalf of an organization.
